Polar Express

The evolutionary path that Emperor penguins have followed, is the product of one of the most extreme environments on the planet. Their predator-prey relationship with leopard seals is part of that evolution and it is what has pushed to evolve a bubble tunnel strategy to increase their speed as they exit the water. As they rocket to the surface, they release millions of microbubbles from their feathers in order to reduce the amount of friction beteen their feathers and the water, allowing them to accelerate to much greater speeds to avoid leopard seal predation.
