What Kind Of Equipment Do You Use?
I need a broad range of equipment to shoot both above and below water. In addition to my camera gear, I have multiple underwater housings, SCUBA equipment, rebreathers, underwater remotes, inflatable kayaks, computers, generators for computers and spare parts kits for everything... and the list goes on. Two years ago, I purchased an ultralight airplane from which to shoot aerials in the Arctic.
I usually travel with 14-20 cases, each weighing between 60-70 pounds. Airlines love when I arrive at check-in with three or four luggage carts roped together. Recently, a writer from National Geographic phoned, worried about the amount of gear he was taking on an assignment with me. After much deliberation, he decided not to bring his laptop, but he was still plagued by traveling with a whopping two pieces of luggage.
